Our Founder
Dr. Nancy L. Griesinger, Ph.D., is a highly accomplished mathematics and statistics professor with a passion for empowering students in STEM fields. With a B.S. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of South Carolina, Dr. Griesinger has dedicated over two decades to educating and mentoring students in science-related disciplines.
In 2002, Dr. Griesinger made history by becoming the first black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Statistics from Rice University. Her groundbreaking dissertation on the Robust Empirical Likelihood — A Statistical Method of Estimating a Quantitative Value showcased her expertise and pioneering spirit in the field of statistics.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Dr. Griesinger has received numerous accolades and honors. She was inducted into the prestigious Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History in Washington, D.C., and featured in prominent publications such as the HistoryMakers Archive, Authority Magazine, Mathematically Gifted and Black, and SheVentures.
